Extremely high rainfall over Easter has hampered the planting of 3,000 trees in the Forest of Life. In excess of 150mm per day average over the period caused creeks to flood and prevented planting activity. The rain was however a great big drink for the existing trees which have responded well to recent rain. Staff report that it is amazing to see almost doubling in size of recently planted trees.

The mature trees love the rain, but it is impossible to plant in continuous rain

This car just makes it across Cooper Creek in the Daintree after the water dropped from 2 meters to around 300mm
